Shanah Tovah to The New Shul of the Conejo Family,

This Friday night and Shabbat morning services will be held at my home: 5548 Adelina Court, Agoura Hills, CA 91301.
Friday night 6 pm to 7 pm and Saturday morning 9:30 am to 12 noon.
All are welcome.

The Torah portion for this Shabbat is Nitzavim-Vayelech and by following this link you may learn from a torah scholar from the Jewish Theological Seminary.

http://www.jtsa.edu/Conservative_Judaism/JTS_Torah_Commentary/Nitzavim-Vayeilekh_5770.xml

This portion is a powerful inspirational message from God to Moses to the Jewish people telling us that all the actions and decisions we make are based on free choice.  From the most humble human being to the most exalted, we are all equal in God's eyes and we all have the capacity to choose right and to "choose life."
Our blessings and merits are based on our conduct and our choices in life.

As we approach the High Holy Days, also known as The Days of Awe, we extend to each other blessings for a good new year filled with sweetness, health, and hope!

We thank all the volunteers and helpers at The New Shul for carrying out the myriad tasks that have been required for us to provide High Holy Day services and temple programs for the community!  Thank you!
Please join us and invite your friends to join you!

Shabbat Shalom and Shanah tovah.
Rabbi

Shalom Friends and Members of The New Shul of the Conejo,

I will be teaching a course at Cal Lutheran University entitled "Judaism and the Jewish People."  The class will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays 12 noon to 1:50 pm beginning September 2nd and concluding around the second week of December.  For more information contact Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.  This class is a comprehensive introductory class on several important aspects of Judaism.  It may be used as the content portion leading to conversion to Judaism.  Please contact me if you or someone you know would like to take this class for the purpose of conversion.  This is also an excellent class for those who have never really studied Judaism since their Bar Mitzvah.

Shalom, Hope to see you on Shabbat.
